Moving to Dubai: a language checklist for the first 30 days
English will carry you in a mall. It will not always carry you at the first Amer window or a paediatric consult if your parents speak only Hindi.
Week one
Visa medical and status file. Book the home language plus English or Arabic depending on the counter.
Week two to four
School enrolment, tenancy, bank and a GP. Request a female interpreter for the first clinic visit if that is your preference.
