Indonesian is booked for Jakarta and Surabaya families, household staff and visitors who need a linguist at a hospital, school or immigration window. Filipino and Malay are not substitutes — say Indonesian on the form.

Clinic consults, visa medicals, labour complaints and family sponsorship. A female interpreter is frequently requested for maternity wards.

Bahasa Indonesia is the default. Mention Javanese or Sundanese only if that is truly the language of the room.

Write the patient’s name as on the passport, including any multi-part given names without a family name.
